Tips: Liquid Line Restriction

When diagnosing  or servicing the liquid line in your system you must be aware and be able to distinguish between a restricted liquid line and a system overcharge.  If your adding refrigerant to a system check  if the high-pressure control has a restriction,  otherwise the receiver can cause a high-pressure in the system and damage your unit. First make sure the high-pressure control is set. If is not operating properly this must be rectify before adding refrigerant  or it can cause  a dangerous situation and obviously will  not operate properly.

Sub-cooling occurs when the receiver is restricted thus starving the evaporator and compressor and the refrigerant will not enter the condenser or will be trapped as a result. For more information watch the video on line restriction.
