How to Check a Capacitor

Remove the start capacitor and use a screwdriver to shorten the two terminals and discharge the electricity from it. Set your analog meter on 1k ohms. Touch the two terminals with your ohms meter test leads. Reverse the way that you were touching the two terminals with your ohms meter test leads.
